Subject: [Localseed-discuss] Dig
in local seed network looking for plantmaterial
Dear fellow seed savers, hope there's someone out
there who can help with my request.
Is anyone in Melbourne
able to exchange some seed heads/pods for harveting in return for seeds which
have already been harvested, threshed and sorted? ? (unusual request, I
know!). Our LSN (Dig in LSN, based at Dig in community garden Port Melbourne)
has a practical seed saving workshop scheduled in two weeks time - Saturday 6
December - but we have recently lost our entire crop of snow peas which we
were going to harvest seeds for this session. (very suddently).Unfortunately
we don't have any other plant material ready to collect seed from at present,
and I'd prefer not to postpone our workshop for a few months (until our
silverbeet and spinach seed is ready to harvest) if I can help it. As a small
LSN I feel it's important to keep the momentum going with regular
sessions/workshops which is why i'm sending out this request.
We have small quantity of early long purple
eggplant, casper
eggplant and all season carrots which could be exchanged for plant material.
And of course we could package and return a quantity of seeds collected from
any plant material offered to us.
