Once new growth is evident, trim off the damaged areas. Give them some
seaweed + fish emulsion once a week for a while. They should recover.
Two years ago we had a major hail storm just as pods were forming. The
plants recovered enough to give a harvest of enough seeds to grow a
decent crop the following year, which is what we were after. It was too
late for us to resow but I think Marjorie's advice may well be worth
heeding. Sow a few more seeds to ensure a good harvest.
