Subject: [Localseed-discuss] Localising
seed,strengthening Local Seed Networks
Dear Local Seed Savers
In the spirit of localising seed, this year we plan to send out the bulk
of the seed in our central seed bank to Local Seed Networks. Some will be in
our sealed foil packets and some in bulk. Some we will have germination tested
and some not. Soon we shall send out a list from which you can choose what you
like.?
As we will continue to receive fresh seeds into our seed bank, we would
like to send seeds that come from your area, or a similar climate. >From time
to time we may send small amounts out to you for you to pass around. We have a
fair idea of the capacity of each of your? groups to absorb seeds,?
We shall continue the Regenerator's programme of rare seeds to be bulked
up by experienced seed savers and then send them out to you.?
We are revving up public support for Local Seed Networks with the
publication of our list of Local Seed Networks in Organic Gardener magazine.
If you are a Local Seed Network coordinator, please let us know if your
contact details have changed, that is postal address, phone or email. The
deadline is this Friday 4th May.
